Today we'll discuss escape games as a team building activity. In todays workplace, stress is ramping up, workload is increasing and communication is lost due to the transition between online and offline work. All of this is affecting the workplace negatively with decreased productivity and efficiency. So the need for team building activities increases. In general, team building activities target various purposes such as team communication, problem solving, team work, ice breakers, leadership, project management and time management. Being stuck in a game with your team with a specified time to accomplish a mission, provides the perfect environment to train your team to work all together under stress to solve a mission within a deadline, all while having a ton of fun knowing that this is a game, especially if the game is well designed with an immersive environment. The fact that your team is working all together to solve a mission that all members enjoy solving, pushes the team to work all together to reach their target thus improving communication tremendously and enhancing project management and task distribution within the team. Some people will work as scouts in an outdoor escape game while other are natural riddle solvers; furthermore,some may arise as leaders and project managers that will make sure everyone is aligned on the target and working efficiently. Not only that, but escape games especially outdoor escape games provide the perfect environment to teach the team about the importance of team building and problem solving as these games take place in an outdoor environment and require a huge amount of communication and attention to details. And probably the most important team building aspect of escape games remains the problem solving requirements of these games, escape games are generally about solving series riddles, puzzles and challenges to reach the target. Knowing that the team will be working together and most probably multi-tasking to be more efficient in a well designed game .
